a quick Q:HQ = .... UHQ = ... help please

when uploading pixs how do i know the difference between HQ and UHQ is this to do with the size of file i am trying to upload

Good question robert... I myself make a personal judgement call- how close I was to the girl/lady. Example:
I would call HQ, since the princess is moving, and the light is poor.

Whereas

I would call UHQ.

A mods opinion would be good here.

No, not the size of the file (as in how much memory). It is based entirely on picture size (area in square px). There used to be a "Sticky" explaining it, but I can't find it now. From memory: ..... multiply the length x width of the pic (in px). Examples:

~ 800 x 1200 = 960,000/1,000,000 = 0.96 = MQ
~ 600 x 900 = 540,000 /1,000,000 = 0.54 = LQ

o Low quality "LQ" ............ < 0.70
o Medium quality "MQ" ......... 0.70 - 1.60
o High quality "HQ" ............. 1.61 - 2.50
o Ultra high quality "UHQ" .. > 2.50

There you have it. No subjective measures like clarity/resolution, composition, etc. Hope this helps robert123456 (and it's right )

I'd like to thing that the difference between HQ and UHQ is not the size of the image, but the overall quality of it.

One can have a UHQ image , lets say for example, 5000X3000, but if the image is blurry over pixalated or shot in low light it not UHQ, just a big image....

If a picture is really sharp, shot with a great camera, ( not an old cell phone which take huge images but really blurry) I consider it UHQ.

Quality means just that!

I just saw some 10000X7000 pics ( don't ask where) that were indeed huge and tagged UHQ, but they were blurry as shit!-unedited, just straight out of the camera stuff....

I can't think of a better analogy except, you can have the worlds biggest cock, but if you don't know how to use it, it ain't worth shit!

Realistically, there are no hard and fast rules about UHQ, HQ, MQ, etc. We all know from experience that a massive picture with very low resolution isn't HQ.

It's really down to peer review; the members viewing the pic decide whether the tag you've applied is correct.

Sorry to be so vague about it but I hope you understand that it's a very subjective decision.
